Welcome to my RUclips video channel.
I am primarily using this channel to store and share my motorsport videos taken between 1986 and now. Some of the cars and people featured are not likely to be seen racing again, so it is important to preserve this history.
I will try to categorise the clips as much as possible ... you will see a lot of Historic Porsche NZ, but many other cars and probably planes will feature.
I will also use this channel to help support my real estate business as I do on occasion commission drone videos of properties.
Cheers GT

Early club, sprint day. Quite a selection of classic cars ... many still around today but unlikely to be seen on the track. Copied from my VHS collection, so please excuse the quality Cheers Glyn

4:39 that guy is literally standing on the engine
I got to see the Taycan and 911 factory in 2023, unfortunately cameras were not allowed so I have to go off memory. The engine assembly line is actually nearly unchanged compared to here....just twice the number of engines on the line compared to 1986. The body assembly looks nothing like it does now.
That's quality and enginering first class.
while the video title says the Wellington street circuit which i assume the female reporter begins the actual footage is at the Pukekohe circuit
You are correct ... this is filmed at Pukekohe. The interview was all part of the buildup for the Wellington event.
Looking good
Grandpas got a 944, and his papryus training certification from Porsche from the 80s. Loved watching this piece of history
When the japanese arrived ant the facory, to help reorganising and updating the factory, they thought it was a dismantler place. Just seing the 911 drive between the benches and worker is a big throw back. I got to see the factory a couple of times, more updated. Now its a state of art, but , no glamour. Car is still number 1
Imagine how effort did the workers on that factory put on every single 928 for them to be sold in about 5000£ today 😢
Looks pretty casual around that factory there’s no hustle. One guy is standing on the engine
Thank all of you line workers for putting your skills into manufacturing some of the most fun cars of all time ! I own 2 944s. They are my pecious babies. SALUTE !
yup same here have one 87 944s and 928s4 love these. what a history and art
I lost my 944 (86 base kalihari beige with 15in Fuchs. Sold on the day Chernobyl happened 😂) to a stupid zoomer in an outback that rear ended me.
Good Old Racing Ray !! A great guy , showman!! He and that 930 Turbo , were one together . Turbo is now on show in Richardson Truck Museum , Invercargill . Well worth a visit . All the Best Ray .
I wonder if one of these guys put my 86's engine in, neat
Owen Evans nearly died doing just that that same year. He got the world record prior to the accident but i dont know if it was before or after
thanks, the blue/ white porsche 964 RSR belonged to Roock Racing and usually raced in the german ADAC GT Cup
racing in NZ was so good back then. Thanks to Glyn Taylor for filming .
You had a lot more time and access than I had on my Treffen visit in May 1986. The guide was always waiting impatiently for me follow along. I went back in 1987 and 2011 and cameras were verboten!
awesome
The RS is the utimate.
1987 944S Price motor in transmission Reboot call new one

Danke für diesen Upload!
now restoiring mine 944 in 2022 ,its incredible my frist car
Same with me! Restoring my 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo as my first car. What’s your Instagram?
@@nicholasgranda952 @rxindo7 woooww thats incredible
That footage is the best ever, just brilliant
All that effort and it never occurred to you to mention the speed?Cool vid tho, thanks off to search😉
I think he hit a 300kms there’s a video of someone who competed with him who hit 315kms and I think he said Ray was faster
@@2easy775 thanks mate, bloody fast on a country road!
Was this a yearly event. I saw it on the old High Octane DVD series when the Japanese bought quite a few cars over .
There was so many fun days in the 80's
So cool. My buddy and I were replacing his clutch on his 928. He had other engine components to repair as well. We got fed up and just removed the motor, torque tube and transaxle. It was a lot to remove it but felt worth it to just see what the hell we were working on. We were able to replace everything with out a fight. Probably the wrong way to go about it; but made sense for us.
So did he do it?
THE 80s at PORSCHE were days of extreme quality and the cars were made to last and were very exclusive. Now every tome dick and harry seems to own one...it has lost its exclusivity like Mercedes has. SAD>
Came for the mullet wasn't disappointed
Fantastic, takes me back to our 1st Le Mans trip, epic grid, can’t believe it was 25 years ago, wonderful memories, thanks for uploading😃
Pure Porschography
😍😍😍
Good video
Beautiful 356
I fantasize about lifting the body off my 928 like that. Maybe some day when I have a lift and a few weeks or months to kill.
It might be more efficient if you tore the whole f*cking car apart; XD.
Geil!!!
why, why oh why??
Our first ever Le Mans that year, boiling 🥵, amazing memories, the V12 mclarens
Most amazing hand built car in the world !!!!PORSCHE NUMBER 0NE !!🇩🇪👍😎
I saw my 1987 Cabriolet behind the red 930 !!🤘🤣😎👍🇩🇪
Le travail bien fait...
I'd forgotten...I used to love the handicap races! My brother lives on the runoff area for the back straight now
Thanks for posting this, I remember being at this very event!! I was 17 at the time, its had a lasting influence on me!! So good to see it again!! I have some photos somewhere...must dig them out!!
How many horsepower and torque were these race 944T?
the turbo cup version from 1987 comes with 250HP and 350nm torque - later there was the possibility to order up to 300HP ex works.....
@@sebastianm.8383 wow I didn’t know about the 300hp option. Must be really rare
@@nicholasgranda952 you could order the kit with or w/o installation , price was approx DM 4800,- w/o installation (only parts)
I went to my first 24 hours of Daytona. That year and I loved it. That Aurora V-8 From Oldsmobile. What a grungy loud in your face v-8. If they did not break down. I think Wayne Taylor,Mr Jim Pace would have won the triple crown. Thanks for the video. And I never knew that a Supra and a Skyline ran at LeMans.
workers all look like escapees from a mental institution
About a year later, they built mine
Thank you for the time machine!🇩🇪👍🇺🇸
Great sounds & nice to see different angles from the race. Seems so raw ,compared to official dvd. Oh I wish I had been there ☹️
Wow!!
